Sadly this isn’t some retro TV series or some new form of space 1889 (classic RPG game that one) but the collision of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen Century 1969 and some ISS spotting.
As mentioned before I follow TWISS on twitter so get ISS related tweets when its likely to pass overhead. One tweet today told me that it was going to pass over around 8:30pm tonight and we shuffled out to try and spot it but due to it being still early evening the light was too bright, plus it was a 40 degree angle meaning it was too low to see with our treeline. The next pass was 84 degrees at just after 10 and promised to be much brighter which it was.
I also managed to take a couple of interesting pics of a glowing dragonfly which sits in among our flowerbed.

The final part of this is that I picked up 1969 today and am now off to read it while trying to spot all the little jokes Mssr’s Morre and O’Neill have slipped in. I’ve already spotted references to Monty Python, get carter, james bond, thunderbirds, the saint and andy capp. Part of the fun in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is this spotting.
