NONONONONONO you’re missing the point you fool. Up until now osx wouldn’t spit out external media if it was still in use and wouldn’t tell you what was using it and in what context. Now (under the mighty 10.6) OSX passes on the info allowing you to deal with it in a way other than shutting down apps randomly.
