Dead Zebras

This little sketch came about in the pool yesterday and I sketched it up in Photoshop quickly. Its for a (none existent) band called the dead zebras and i have an idea of how it would appear as a vector illustration. I’m basically doing this because I don’t want to finish typing up the @media notes.

The sketches around the edge show some of the mouth shapes I wanted and the head top right ended up looking more like a cow. I copied a photo of a zebra in to try and study the markings but ended up ignoring most of it :)

They call him Sir

As requested, I started to produce a short tutorial based around how I did my previous two posters and found a photo of the sucker person who requested the tutorial. I have started it and took many screen caps during the process and now face the job of writing up my notes. Not an easy job as I kept changing things heavily along the way.

Bah…

Anyway, here the finished poster, I will attempt to write up the tutorial at some point.

*sounds of puffing breath*

www.kirkd.co.uk has had its full cosmetic nip and tuck, is now uploaded and is sitting on around v0.9. Its so close to being in a semi finished state that its almost a shame to go to bed.

I spent the best part of three or four hours just working on the background image. I had a photo taken of myself wearing one of my suits and started working on an idea based on the captain beefheart ‘trout mask replica’ album cover. I then spent several hours with my head down, slaving over a hot wacom and it was like a pure ball of mental energy exploding in my head (in a good way, honest). Anyway, the final image looks good and I’m really happy with the final design apart from the text, something isn’t sitting right with me on that but i can’t put my finger on it. Typography has never been a strong point with me. Hey hum…

Next up will be the following:

1) Downloads – a couple of background images to pad the page out.
2) Tutorials – it needs something to fill the widgets so i need to get my finger out and finish off the one for Hermit (i hadn’t forgotten) and think up a couple more
3) Add some more links

After that its just a case of basically adding new content to the 2D, 3D and video sections. Not much then.
