Nothing to see here

Its been a bit of a slow time since my last post. I’ve had so much random crud to wade through that its not been worth coming on here, booohiss. So here comes a fluff blog post in an effort to organise my thoughts.

I’ve managed to get my finger out and have got a new brief some content on the B5 game but need to sketch up some ideas before I can start on it as it all needs to be approved by the head honcho. More details as and when possible (dependant on my getting it done and my being allowed to post it)

So to help my mind de-clutter, I’ve been having a quick sort out on my hard drive and started to pull together a few unfinished bits which will probably remain unfinished, but I’m considering tackling in between now and a family holiday coming up.

Amongst others we have:

Dropship – an old 3dworld contest I didn’t finish in time
Scarlet traces taxi – Another 3dworld mag contest entry which didn’t get done
Valkyrie transport – based on a 40k model kit.
Goblin Shaman – Was loving this guy. Never got round to… well you know the tune by now.

I’ve also got a ton of training videos I want to wade through… Theres just not enough coffee in the day.

me old china

Gardening at the daughters school today and after a good few hours moving compost, digging ground, carrying gravel and generally acting like a hybrid of Alan Titchmarsh and Charlie Dimmock (i didn’t have my bra on either) i was knackered. Settling down in my own garden for a quiet read didn’t happen as it was too cold when not sweating over a hot shovel but i did manage to get the telescope out and calibrate the targeting thingy on it.

After that I managed to read for a bit and I have to say that “Kraken” by China Mieville is one of the best books i’ve read in a while. Yes it really is a kraken read* and theres a Cthulhu reference in there! It looks like its not wrapped up in the Cthulhu mythos, which is probably a good thing really as it would have been a cheap gimmick, but rather it gets referenced by one of the characters. My gibbous moon is satisfied. Anyway, i can heartily recommend it to anyone who likes things like Hellblazer (the comics not the films) as its got that kind of feeling running through it. I’m looking forward to finishing it.

*bad joke provided by the other half.

2011 – New Year

More of a start to the year than a resolution but I thought it may be a good idea to blog more.

Like this will stick…

Here we go. I watched 2001 this morning after a brief moment of blue danube on the telly and now want to reread all four books. Again, not really a resolution, more something to do. I have all four books packed and ready to go back to Ipswich.
I’m planning on walking to work every Friday to save money (fugging tax rise) plus it may help my lardy bum.
Blog more. Sorry but my rambles will continue.
Generally improve my c4d animation skills. Not hard really as I never touch keyframes so I may actually animate something this year.

Arse. Had better post before midnight.
