Best laid plans of someone or other

It’s been a funny old week that’s just ticked by.

I (with all best intentions) sat down at the start of the week with c4d to try and model a car. Its something I’ve never done before and probably never will with the way things are going now as its failed horribly. Using Arndt von Koenigsmarck’s book of c4dv10 learningness, I tried to follow the step by step guide to model a Smart roadster only to find much of the guidesplines set out in the step 1 file to be different to the later versions of the files, some of the steps are garbled and vague and to cap it off, I wasn’t interested in the subject matter. I know thats not Arndt fault but when i spend time fiddling with splines to try and get them to fit with his later one in the tutorial i kind of flagged and lost interest.
I’m still working on a little pet project at the moment but I’ve been looking at which projects are kicking around to finish. I can:
a) Finish my tech priest
b) Finish the goblin shaman
c) Finish the Buck Rogers fighter from a VERY long time ago
d) oh great…. going back even further is the skelebot i was planning on animating
e) Work on the short animation between two characters i scripted last year
f) work on a car even though i hate the millions of 3d car models in the world
g) get more ways of starting sentences without using “finish…..”

Graaah.

  1. Don’t feel so bad about it. I promised you ages ago that I’d paint you a goblin shaman miniature, and it’s still only been undercoated :(

Besides, you’d probably resent it if there was someone kicking your arse to get them done

  2. Bah. I just feel that I don’t get half of my pet projects finished and the ones I do finish are the dull ones. Half the time its just trying to find time to sit down with one to work on it or work on something that might teach me something like the car tutorial which is dull as I’m not into the theme.
